Introduction
The Catskill Litigation Trust (“Trust”) is pursuing over $5 Billion in judgment and litigation claims against Harrah’s Operating Company, Inc. (“Harrah’s”), a subsidiary of Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: HET), and other persons on behalf of a large number of beneficiaries of the Trust. The Trust has been registered as a public entity with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission since January 2004. The Trust’s public filings are available on the SEC website - Click here: Company Information: CATSKILL LITIGATION TRUST
The Trust’s judgment and litigation claims against Harrah’s relate back to the intentional interference on April 14, 2000, by Harrah’s predecessor, Park Place Entertainment Corporation (“Park Place”), with the development of a Native American casino project by predecessors of the Trust at the Monticello Raceway, Sullivan County, in the Catskills Mountains of New York “(Casino Project”).
Park Place merged with Harrah’s in June 2005, and Harrah’s assumed all litigation liabilities of Park Place. Harrah’s is currently the sole corporate defendant by virtue of being the surviving corporation in its merger with Park Place.
